Amen! It’s like Romans 4:2-5 says, “If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. What does Scripture say? ‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.’ Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.”

Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him (Hebrews 11:6).

Thanks for sharing, Wil!
Blessings to you,
Amanda

People must understand there is a vast difference between the OT and the NT. The OT was all about works(Abraham the exception). Moses and the law. Do good get good do bad and get bad. No one could keep the law. Bad was always around. The NT is all about faith in the finished works of Jesus. It’s all about grace and faith in what Jesus did. Receive Jesus as Lord and Savior and His Righteousness and an abundance of grace. No bad always good in Jesus.
As Paul stated,”The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.”

Hi Lori! 🙂 I don’t think you are being arrogant. It is good to make sure we are preaching the Truth. I really commend you for that. We need to not just accept everything we hear. We need to search the Word and ask God to show us the Truth.

I know we will have trials and suffering in this life. Every time God moves me to a higher level, the persecution raises higher against me. I have cried more in the last two years than my whole lifetime because of all the suffering and trials me and my family have been through. The devil attacks us when we are walking in obedience to the Lord. So I am not saying that we won’t have suffering. But when I read God’s Word, I don’t see Jesus, or those who followed in His footsteps, die of disease or sickness. Jesus suffered willingly on the cross because of persecution, not because of disease/sickness. His disciples lost their lives because of persecution, not sickness. I am also not saying we will never get sick. Timothy got frequent illnesses and God used Paul to instruct him how to get better, instead of leaving him sick.

When Jesus healed, and His disciples healed, they never said to anyone “It is God’s will for you to remain ill.” With that being said, I have to stand on God’s Word. David said in Psalm 103:1-3, “Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives ALL your sins and heals ALL your diseases…”

Jesus forgave ALL our sins and healed ALL our diseases.

Why would God allow that to be in the Bible, and all the verses I shared in this message above where Jesus healed ALL who came to Him, if God was going to later change His mind that He would decide to keep some people sick that came to Him for healing?

I have experienced many miracle healings, and God has used me to deliver many miracle healings. But even if He never did, I still would stand firm on it because I can’t deny what I read in His Word, and not just in one small scripture, but throughout His Word.

Just last week, a woman was telling me about her gall bladder needing to be removed. I asked if I could pray for her. She agreed and I prayed over her. I just saw her today and she was so thankful for my prayers. Since I prayed, God directed her to a natural doctor who put her on supplements and she is doing well and doesn’t need it removed. If I would have said I would pray for strength through her sickness and that it’s God’s will for her to suffer that sickness so she can grow deeper with Him, she would have lost hope. Instead, by me giving her hope it lifted her spirit and her faith to receive God’s healing.

We all have the faith to receive God’s promises. God has given it to us. It’s our unbelief that hinders us from receiving all that God has for us. Hebrews 4:2 says, “For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.”

The promises in God’s Word won’t profit us if we don’t believe them. I believe His Word on healing and I am very much profiting from it. My husband just told his father in law yesterday that he wouldn’t have believed in healing if he didn’t see the amazing miracles God has done through me. My eleven year old daughter wants to be baptized. She had to fill out a paper saying why she wants to be baptized. She simply stated, “Because of the miracles God has done in my family.” Just this week, each one of my kids had a different ailment all in the same day. I knew it was a test against my faith because I was doing this series. But after standing in belief on God’s Word and praying over each one, their ailments went away instantly. How can I deny what I read in God’s Word and then also see as physical proof in my life? I just can’t.

I am so on fire to learn and grow more in the Lord and see Him do greater things in and through the body of Christ. There is so much we don’t know. We must have childlike faith and trust what He says when we don’t understand.

Thanks so much for sharing your heart and story with me. I know God has done and will continue to do an amazing work in and through you. I hope you don’t take these messages as an attack against you. My heart is to share God’s Word. Thanks for challenging me more to seek God and His will on this. Many blessings to you and your ministry:)

I just want to suggest that when it’s happening to you, God opens your eyes and opens your understanding to see the meaning of scripture in a perhaps different way. Another way to say it is you are more “tuned in” to see a fuller meaning. I’m sure this has happened to you... you read a certain scripture and God gives you a deeper grasp of what you thought His word was initially saying. The Bible is permeated with suffering. Thank God He doesn’t leave us in the dark about darkness. I’m listing only a few scriptures that apply to His Sovereignty so that hopefully you can see what I’m saying. Again, please don’t think I am being arrogant. I just want you to understand where I’m coming from. "I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are right, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me" (Psalm 119:75). David is saying, "Lord, I know why You afflicted me. You saw that when all was going well, I went astray, becoming careless, so you allowed trouble to come upon me. You knew it would drive me to my knees and bring me back to brokenness. My affliction was evidence of Your faithfulness to me!" Exodus 4:11 So the LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? [Have] not I, the LORD? “I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!” Philippians 3: 10-11 I am the Lord, and there is no other. I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the Lord, am the one who does these things.” Isaiah 45: 3-7 Blessings to you!]]> Amanda, I am not trying to be arrogant. Hi Lori:) Thanks for sharing your story and thoughts. I want to reply to your comments. I didn’t say God only wants to heal us. He certainly wants to do more in and through us than just bring healing to our physical bodies. I also didn’t say healing was the only way God is glorified. See the next post I shared why God performs miracles through His disciples : http://www.sharingtruths.com/?p=424

I know many people have shared different opinions and thoughts on healing. But I always go to God and His Word. If everyone around me is dying of disease, I must still hold on to what God’s Word says. He does not lie. If it’s in His Word, that is the testimony I stand on. Not what I see around me. I must see proof through scripture, not through what others say. Certainly there are things we are not taking hold of that are there for us, and God still uses us where we are at and glorifies Himself through us. But to say because we are not experiencing it, than it must not be true, is wrong.

I think the church has really clouded our minds against God and His sovereignty. I am really upset so many think everything that goes wrong is God’s doing to discipline us. I just heard a preacher say that God came and blew his roof off, and God gave so and so cancer. God has given us authority on this earth. “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you” (Luke 10:19).We have an important responsibility to tear down the lies and strongholds the enemy is sowing in this world.

We are waiting for God to move our mountains, when Jesus gave us the authority and told us to go and move the mountains. The more I pray and study how Jesus lived and how His disciples lived, the more I see that the church today is not walking with the authority Christ has given us. It’s very sad. And it’s the reason we are seeing so many turn away from Christianity today. We should be walking in Christ’s authority bringing His testimony to the world.

I encourage you to ask God to show you the truth as I do the same. I’ve been praying and seeking His will on healing for many years. This message has been on my heart for a long time and God has given me the green light to share it. I’ve seen the power and miracles God has done in and through me. And I’ve read countless scriptures on healing. I just can’t overlook His Word. I pray for His truth to be known in our hearts. He is faithful to show us.

God bless you my sister in Christ:)

Healing most certainly is a touchy subject – People need to be reminded of God’s Sovereignty. Yes, there are many reasons why we suffer (one example would be a result of sin). I have had Muscular Dystrophy for twelve years, and God has connected me to many souls who love Him more than life… but they still have a disability/chronic illness. I differ with you when you say you are confident God only wants to heal. Healing is not the only way He is glorified. I’d like to share this post I’ve written with you and your readers – It is some treasures of darkness God has graciously shown to me in the midst of my suffering… http://www.lorilaws.net/2012/04/he-is-master-over-all/

Hi Dorothy!
I love how God is faithful and merciful even when we fall into doubt. He will still find a way to heal us and make us whole. Yesterday, at different times, every one of my kids had some sort of ailment. After praying with each one, they were better. How can we not believe it when His Word says it over and over again and we see His power working in our lives. Thanks for standing on God’s Word. God bless you my sister:)

God has healed me many times becauseof the stripes of Jesus; even when I had back slided. I know now that it does not matter what it look or feel like, I am already healed by Jesus’ stripes. I am like you, I refuse to believe that God does not heal today and He want people to be sick; that is ridiculous!! God bless Amanda and keep telling the truth of God’s Word! Shalom my friend!

Wow, Mark! What a wonderful comment! Today, I am explaining why God displays His healing power in us. It’s not so we can be prideful and bring glory to ourselves, it’s to bring glory to Jesus as a testimony to His salvation.
Thank you for all your kind words and constant support. You are truly a blessing to me. I will miss being online, but am excited to spend this time with the Lord and see where He leads me. God bless you my brother in Christ:)
