I love your story, Mark! I’m so happy God brought your wife into your life! 🙂 God knows if we will respond to Him, that’s why it’s so important to pray for God to show us the one we are to marry. I wasn’t following Christ when God led me and my husband together, but He knew eventually down the road I’d respond to Him. Kerry’s message is a great example to listen for that still small voice and follow the Holy Spirit to the one He has chosen for us. Thanks for sharing your story. Blessings to you:)

A great and inspiring post – thank you so much for sharing. The sentence that got me thinking the most was:
“He didn’t understand or appreciate the burden I carried for sharing my faith with him”
You know, even as an atheist, my (now) wife created that appreciation you speak of here that allowed her to then subsequently witness to me. Despite being an ardent atheist i was still appreciative of this “burden in sharing” to me that there arose an opening for her to do this – unlike this first relationship of yours – where clearly, he was not open to it.
I’m thankful for her perseverance but much more so for being aware of what she was trying to do, how she was trying to help me, and how her intentions were full of grace and love. However had i not been receptive, and she had been unable to pierce my self imposed defenses, i doubt we would be together now for the same reasons you gave. As it stands i am extremely grateful she did what she did. I’m truly humbled to be her husband.
Great post!
